My 2016 Golf R has been making this really annoying creaking sound from the front end whenever I go over speed humps or turn into a parking spot at slow speeds, it's not a clunk exactly but more like an old wooden ship or something and it's been driving me absolutely crazy for the last month because I can't figure out if it's the strut mounts or the control arm bushings or maybe something with the sway bar links that just needs a bit of grease. I've had a couple of garages take a quick look and they all seem to shrug and tell me it's just normal wear and tear for a car this age but it doesn't sound normal and I swear it's getting louder every week, especially when the weather's really hot and everything expands. I was digging around online trying to see if this is a common thing on the MQB platform cars and I stumbled on a suspension specialist that seems to know their Volkswagens, you can explore professional services on their site and they list all the common failure points for the front end which actually made me feel a bit less like I was being paranoid. I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and having them do a full inspection and replace whatever's worn out because I'm tired of wincing every time I pull into my building's garage and hearing that groan echo off the walls. Anyone else had a similar issue with their Golf R or GTI and can tell me what it actually ended up being so I have some idea of what I'm walking into cost wise?
