Okay but seriously how do you stop a generator from weeping oil all over a new tile floor
I finally got around to tiling the little utility room off the kitchen here in Ajman and it looked pristine for about four days until I noticed this faint amber halo spreading out from under the backup generator that I thought I had parked safely on a piece of cardboard like a caveman, and now my wife is giving me that look that says "you spent all weekend on this floor and you're going to ruin it before we even host anyone" and honestly I can't argue with her logic. I was poking around on my phone trying to find a drip tray that isn't an eyesore and also doesn't cost more than the generator itself and somehow ended up on https://www.crateco.ae/productlist/drip-trays-UK-Made where the photos make them look like they belong under a proper industrial machine not my little 5kW Honda knockoff, but at this point I'm willing to embrace the industrial aesthetic if it means I stop finding oily cat paw prints tracked across the beige tiles every morning. My main hesitation is whether the footprint is going to be too massive for the corner I've got it shoved into because the room is barely bigger than a broom closet and I don't want to trip over a giant metal pan every time I go to grab a mop. Anyone got one of these under a small portable gennie and can tell me if the overhang is ridiculous or if it just looks like you're prepared for the apocalypse?
