Came across this Audi gearbox specialist page for Sharjah, has anyone actually been - joshphilippe - 04-18-2026 Came across this Audi gearbox specialist page for Sharjah, has anyone actually been there or is it just a nice website? My 2015 Audi S5 has been giving me that dreaded transmission judder when shifting from second to third under light throttle and I've been putting off dealing with it for months because every quote I've gotten in Dubai starts at "we need to remove the gearbox just to look" and then the numbers climb into territory where I start wondering if I should just list the car on Dubizzle and pretend it never happened, but last night I was deep in a Google rabbit hole around 2am and ended up on this page https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/audi/ and it actually looked pretty comprehensive with all the DSG and ZF stuff they claim to rebuild rather than just swap out for a whole new unit which is exactly what I need because my car has the DL501 seven speed and I've read those mechatronic units are notorious for the circuit board going bad and the official fix is basically a mortgage payment. The workshop is up in Sharjah somewhere and I've never had work done outside of Dubai so I'm naturally a bit cautious because you hear stories about places that look great online but then you show up and it's just a shack with a pit in the floor and a guy who tells you not to worry while he disconnects your transmission with a hammer, but at the same time if they actually know these Audi gearboxes inside and out and can do a proper mechatronic rebuild with the updated parts for a fraction of dealer cost then the drive up there is worth every kilometer. Anyone here actually taken their Audi to these guys or at least been to that industrial area for transmission work and can give me a straight answer on whether I should trust them with my car or keep saving for that Dubai specialist quote that's giving me heartburn? |
